When it comes to a low slope, commercial roof, there are two basic roof types: Single-Ply Roofing and Built-Up Roofing (BUR).
Single-Ply
Single-ply roofing, is what Buysse Roofing of St. Cloud specializes in. With its faster installation, a single-ply roof will return lower installation costs. Don’t let lower installation costs fool you. Most single-ply roof applications can be backed by a manufacturer’s warranty of anywhere between 10 and 30 years.
Within the single-ply roofing world, there are three basic assemblies along with two standard membrane types. All three systems and both membranes have their pros and cons. Click herefor a description of these three systems. If you require additional information, contact Buysse Roofing of Saint Cloud and we will be happy to answer any questions.
Built Up Roofing (BUR)
The second type of commercial roof is a traditional built-up roof (BUR). A BUR roof involves using a combination of hot asphalt and layers of building felts to construct a multiple layer system.
Due to the lengthy installation of BUR roofs, they tend to be more expensive. However, due to this multiple layer system, the assembly results in a roof system that has the potential to protect for decades; even long after any warranty may expire.
For an informational pamphlet on the types of roofing we can provide you, please contact Buysse Roofing of St. Cloud and we will be happy to send you a copy along with samples of the roof membrane currently available.
